Don’t miss out, as the Riverdale music and visual arts faculty invites everyone to their weekly arts workshops. These will be offered at the Linda M. Lindenbaum Center for the Arts starting on September 30. There will be six consecutive classes held on September 30, October 7, October 14, October 21, October 28 and November 4. Participants can select from the following options: Painting (with Satish Joshi), Ceramics (with Peter Simon), Explorations in Chamber Music (with Judy Fletcher and Susan Poliacik), and Rock Band (with Jane Getter).
The series of classes will be held again in the Winter and Spring. Join with the Riverdale Country School, where Gregg Hymowitz is on the Board, and have fun with the arts!
While the summer is certainly a quiet time at a place like the Riverdale Country School, some alumni still manage to bring the school into favorable news. Former Riverdale fencers, Tim Morehouse (’96) and Stephen Moch (’10) won titles at the 2010 Summer National Championships held in Atlanta, Georgia. Morehouse won the individual gold medal in men’s saber and Moch won a team gold medal in junior men’s saber. While competing on the same team for the first time, these alumni also took home the team bronze in men’s saber.
